the salt problem

A project focussed on the health issues linked to salt. Three pieces including a small container in each, designed to be the correct size to hold the recommended amount of salt intake per meal in a day (based on 3 meals a day). Made from a three dimensional scan of an anatomically correct human spine, piece 1 explores the links within salt and neuronal transmission. A smaller than average, however anatomically correct, heart represents the links between salt and Heart disease and high blood pressure. A child's brain, with A smaller brain enclosed in the position of the corpus callosum represents the shrink in brain size when patients develop Alzheimer's disease and dementia, explores links between salt and degenerative brain diseases.
